  • On June 17, 2020 Governor Ducey issued Executive Order 2020-40 on containing the spread of COVID-19. This order allows a city, town or county, based on local conditions, to mandate the wearing of face coverings in public to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.Mayor Johnson has stated,” As we begin to re-open society with continued restrictions imposed due to Covid-19, let us take responsibility for our own health and that of others. The government has established guidelines, requirements, and restrictions but more importantly we all have a personal responsibility for our own health and those that we come in contact with. Be good and responsible citizens. We are not requiring masks in public. Please show respect for those that choose to wear or not wear masks and those merchants that require you to wear them in their place of business. If you have symptoms, be responsible and stay home in self-quarantine. Follow the guidelines and requirements set forth by the CDC and Arizona Department of Health Services.”While we are not requiring masks in public, certain requirements from the Governor’s Executive Order 2020-40 do require masks in certain situations. The Navajo County Health Department will be working with our local establishments, providing education and technical assistance during their transition to comply with the new Executive Order.
  • The Town Council of Snowflake, Arizona will hold a public hearing to consider a proposed change to the “Comprehensive Fee Schedule”. The proposed changes will include rate changes to water and sewer as well as other departmental fees as requested by departments and the manager. The public hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on August 4, 2020 in the Town Council Chambers at Snowflake Town Hall, 81 W. 1st St. South. The proposed changes to the “Comprehensive Fee Schedule”, if approved, will be effective September 3, 2020. Additional information can be obtained by contacting Brian Richards at Snowflake Town Hall.
  • The Town Council of Snowflake , Arizona will hold a public hearing to consider a proposed change to the town tax code, pursuant to A.R.S. § 42-6053. The proposed change will follow amendments for the tax code that include all the 2012-2014 Model City Tax Code changes identified as the “2015” tax code. The public hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on August 4, 2020 in the Town Council Chambers at Snowflake Town Hall, 81 W. 1st St. South.   • The Snowflake Town Council voted at their January 10, 2018 meeting to go from having meetings two times a month on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday, to having only one meeting a month on the first Tuesday of the month. The meeting will still be held at 7 PM and the meeting notices and agendas will still be posted in the same location: Town Hall, Library, Post Office, and our Website.
